I Hardly Think Of You Now

As I walk down the path
Lo! What do I see?
No friend of mine
In obvious misery.
Not quite knowing
Exactly what to do,
I pretend to be blind
Reminiscing an old-worn-June.
After a while
What do I see?
A brook or a crook
And an old oak tree.
Do I rest my back
Before discomforts' attack?
Along with the ants
I placed forget-me-not romance.
Trading thrills and chills
For aches and pains
And bills and bills
For a better way.
The miserable one
Has long been gone.
Today I have found
What must be the lungs
If I look too far
Or seek too long
I might find it's brain and destroy even that.
